Welcome! We are Bram, Manon, and Jax — the travel family behind Flip Flop Wanderers.

Here, we inspire long-term, slow travelers to uncover hidden treasures, embrace freedom, and find happiness through meaningful adventures — even with a baby.

 Our Story

 For as long as we can remember, we’ve loved to travel. As kids, we both traveled often with our families, and when we met in 2010, it didn’t take long to discover our shared passion for travel.

 In 2011, Manon did an internship in Curacao that changed her life. Bram came to visit, and together we went on a US road trip. The rest is history: we really got the travel bug! After this trip we only wanted to travel more and more and from 2013 on, we traveled almost non-stop: first a 1,5-year world trip, followed by a 3-year journey through dozens of countries. We lived out of backpacks, chased sunshine, and eventually started this blog and Instagram to share our journey.

 During these trips, we came to realize that we don’t want to live the 9-5 for the rest of our lives and that we aren’t interested in following the same path as everyone else. That’s why we have been traveling full-time and set up our tropical home base on the Caribbean Island of Curacao in 2020, where we now live part-time while continuing to travel slowly and deeply — most of the time for months on end.

 One of our biggest dreams? Traveling the world as a family. Our path to parenthood wasn’t easy though and after a long IVF journey, we finally welcomed our son, Jax, into the world in April 2024. He is the best thing that ever happened to us and made our adventures even more meaningful. What started as a couple’s travel blog turned into a family adventure that’s still unfolding every day. These days, we travel the world with him by our side, showing that a life on the road with a baby isn’t just doable — it’s magical and incredibly meaningful. We love showing Jax the world and are not planning on stopping with this lifestyle soon!

Our Travel Style & Niche Our travel style is slow, intentional, and family-focused — always centered around discovering the soul of a destination. We love warm places, longer stays, and regularly venture beyond the tourist trails to showcase lesser-known destinations to the world. Our favorite destinations so far? New Zealand, the Philippines, the Pacific Islands, Greece, and, of course, the Caribbean.
