About My name is Yohann, I am the creator of the whisky journal and my goal is to help you discover the whisky that will exhilarate your senses.

Why the whisky journal? I know it's difficult to navigate the many distilleries, manufacturing processes, and different flavors. When I first discovered whisky, I was a little lost in the face of such diversity, which I eventually learned to appreciate through experience. Like many, I started by drinking whiskies that can be found in supermarkets, such as Ballantine's or Jack Daniel's. I didn't drink for pleasure, but for the effect alcohol gave me. In fact, I often mixed my whisky with cola to alter the taste…

But I started to change my view of whisky after tasting a Japanese whisky from the Fuji Gotemba distillery. I realized that whisky was much more than just a party drink and that one could take great pleasure in savoring all its subtleties. But it was a long road; I didn't have the resources I'm trying to make available on this site. I did a lot of research and many tastings before I was able to create a website about the estate. When I began to understand the subtleties of each whisky and to taste its full character, it was a revelation, a true passion was born. It is this passion that I seek to convey through this site; I want to lead each visitor to find the flavor that will awaken their taste buds.

My goal I want to offer an approach designed for novices to guide them in their quest for the “best” whisky. For me there is no really best whisky but everyone has to find the one that suits them, that's why I establish rankings based on categories and not overall rankings. Whether you're looking for the perfect whisky to give as a gift for a party or you're looking to learn more about whisky, its history and its secrets, this site is for you!
